CRES 2018 activates its fourth cycle of questions of the virtual forums

In the framework of the 3rd Regional Meeting on Higher Education (CRES) 2018`s preconference Agenda, the UNESCO´s International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO-IESALC) and the Univerdad Nacional de Córdona (Spanish abbreviation UNC), activated its fourth cycle of questions of the virtual forums.

The new discussion cycle that initiated on August 28th and will end on September 8th has as principal main to propose a virtual space of exchange of ideas regarding higher education systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. These exchanges will nourish the debates and documents that will take place during the next CRES 2018. Specialists in the area can participate registering in the virtual forums in here and chose a thematic axe.

The questions that have resulted for the fourth cycle of questions are the following:

- According to your criteria, how can be articulated higher education with previous (pre, primary and secondary) and subsequent levels, taking into account the scholarship system as an unavoidable step for education?

- Do you considerer that intercultural initiatives in higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean are appropriate responses to current demands about intercultural processes? Develop conceptual arguments.

- In a context of globalization and knowledge society, the internationalization process of higher education is unavoidable. How could be the strategic plan of this process? Take into account the following components: actor’s mobility, curriculum internationalization, establishment of institutional capacities, training, languages learning, quality assurance and recognition. Incorporate other components if necessary.

- The challenges in higher education institutions (HEI), as equity, inclusion, social justice and deepening democracy in Latin America and the Caribbean, define the thinking of a better quality of life to citizens. What strategy could you create to our IES to be taken into account during public policy processes?

- The own knowledge construction is a purpose linked to the sustainable development process in Latin America and the Caribbean. The research platform of higher education institutions (HEI) must respond to this innovation process. In this regard, what is innovation?

- Current technology trends and digital citizenship have changed cultural patterns in the XXI century. It is possible to think that this dynamic result has highlighted institutions without enough preparation to confront and assume changes` speed. What can we do?

- How can we plan Cordoba 1918`s legacy towards higher education strengthening in the XXI century?
